William Randyll
I was first put in contact with Spencer by a boat dealer I originally wanted to purchase a boat from. I decided to visit a competing dealer and contacted Spencer after finding the boat that I wanted to discuss financing options. After telling Spencer which boat dealer I was currently working with, Spencer replied immediately with, "First, I want to tell you that I'm not going to be able to work with you on a loan as it will be a conflict of interest; but I am always down to help anyone out, so shoot; how can I help you?"
First, let me say we all live in Florida where follow-through and going above and beyond would earn most anyone a bronze statue and a road named after them.
This offer for information sharing lasted more than an hour as Spencer dispensed his lending knowledge, freely, to me just as if I was a customer of his knowing full well that he would not be able to help me due to lending relationships between dealers. After spending more than an hour with with on the phone, with great attention, he was insistent on providing me with his contact information, via email, should I have any other questions and invited me to follow up with him for any help that I may need.
Two weeks later after shopping for financing options, I received a few answers that did not seem in line with other lending products that I have received in other industries. I looked up Spencer's email and called him back asking for just a few minutes of his time and was informed he was out of the office due to an approaching hurricane in the Gulf. I left a message with his team. Spencer called me back at 9:30 AM the day following Hurricane Elsa and apologized for the delay in responding and offered to attend to any questions that I had. After another spirited, 45 minute call, Spencer proved that he wasn't just bored the first time I called; this man has nearly two hours invested into me discussing loan products for a customer that he CAN'T do business with and knew so from the start.
There are times that we are all lucky to come across professionals like Spencer who are not only available, but a well of knowledge. I am a more informed buyer, a more knowledgable citizen, and God willing, a future customer of Spencer's.
